Cameron’s passion for climate action led him to become an Energy Advisor in 2018, leveraging over a decade of experience in the trades. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Victoria and a Master’s in Sustainable Development from the University of Utrecht, he is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector through energy efficiency measures and low-carbon materials.
Cameron possesses a deep understanding of complex building science concepts and has a natural talent for communicating technical ideas to others in a powerful way. He is involved in multiple technical committees (HPSC EA Sector Council, CHBA working group on national renovation code, BuiltGreen Technical Committee) to advance low-carbon construction by fostering innovation and sharing expertise. His belief in analyzing the complete lifecycle of buildings and their materials is instrumental in pushing the boundaries for a more sustainable world.
Cameron’s motivation for ensuring that the planet stays comfortable and enjoyable for future generations relates strongly to his appreciation for his wife and two small children. Together, they enjoy going hiking and camping around the many beautiful natural wilderness areas that surround us and that they wish to preserve.

I was previously a chef but moved into the sustainability work environment 16 years ago as a sustainability assessor. I’ve been a Certified Energy Manager for 12+ years and Certified Energy Advisor for 7+ years. Originally from England but have now been in BC for 20 years after meeting my Canadian wife in Australia. We live in Courtenay with our two kids, where we have renovated a 70s Comox box, similar to the way I might recommend to your home…so, I’ve probably done the things that you might be thinking about 🙂 We have a hobby farm with chickens, dogs, cats, orchard and garden. We try to walk the walk, as well as talk the talk!
We are based in the Comox Valley but serve the Island from Nanaimo and Up. We have also worked with nearly 20 First Nation communities across BC and look forward to working with anyone who may need our services.
