NRCan Fire Resiliency Pilot Project

A pilot project that supports fire-resiliency

Climate resiliency is an increasingly important, tangible element of home construction and home renovation. Residents of the interior of British Columbia have already experienced immense challenges and loss related to forest fire disasters. This program will support 12 homes in British Columbia or Alberta being built with innovative new techniques to improve resiliency during forest fire events. Fire-resilient construction helps prevent damage to your home and belongings and buys valuable time for evacuation in the event of a fire. Participants in this offer can receive rebates and building and insulation materials to build more fire resilient homes.

Located within British Columbia or Alberta;
A New Construction build for the Participant’s primary residence;
The Property must be built to fire-resilient standards

How to participate:

Submit the Expression of Interest below
The program will review the Expression of Interest;
If accepted, the program will reach out to onboard the project:
1. The Registration Form must be completed and signed by the Homeowner
2. The Terms of Reference must be completed and signed by the Builder
Once all required registration forms are received, Builder will receive a program orientation
After the program orientation is complete, projects can proceed with work

Note that this program will primarily be coordinating with the Builder of the home during the project.
