At Your Pre-Retrofit EnerGuide Home Evaluation

In the first evaluation, your advisor will check the efficiency of your home's windows, doors, space and hot water heating systems, ventilation, and insulation.
Using a Blower Door, your advisor will measure the air exchange in your home to find out whether your home is too leaky or under-ventilated. While the fan is running, you can feel exactly where your home is leaking air. You may be surprised at all the hidden leaks!
Your advisor performs a safety check called an Exhaust Devices Depressurization Test to see whether conditions exist that could cause your home's exhaust systems to pull dangerous combustion gasses, including carbon monoxide, into the home. Your advisor will let you know if you are at risk and provide guidance on who you can contact to fix it.
Space heating accounts for 46% of total energy use in average B.C. homes. Older heating and hot water systems may be wasting more than 20% of their fuel. Efficient systems convert more of their fuel source into heat, saving you energy and money!
Water heating accounts for 30% of the energy use in an average B.C. home. Your advisor can inform you about efficient technology options for water heating.
EnerGuide rating in Renovation Upgrade ReportYour advisor will use the on-site evaluation data to create a Renovation Upgrade Report of prioritized cost-effective upgrade recommendations and to calculate your home's current and potential EnerGuide rating.
