City Green supports and promotes the following energy efficiency programs for Salt Spring Island:
Salt Spring Island Low Flush Toilet Rebate - $100

Send in your SSI Toilet Rebate Application Form today. (This is a legal paper sized document - or two letter sized pages).
The Salt Spring Island (SSI) Low Flush Toilet Rebate is for toilet replacements in private residences, constructed prior to January 1, 2005, on Salt Spring Island. New construction or additions are not eligible. Rebates are limited to one toilet per residential property owner.
All toilets must be low flush with 6.0 litres/flush or less and CSA, Warnock Hersey or cUPC certified.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary building and/or plumbing permits. Only toilets purchased and installed after the start of this program are eligible for rebates.
- Replace your inefficient toilet with a low flush toilet that meets the requirements mentioned above.

- Download and print this SSI Toilet Rebate Application Form or pick up an application form at the CRD Building Inspector Office (206-118 Fulford Ganges Rd.), Mouat's, Slegg Lumber, or Windsor Plywood. Complete the form and mail it and a copy of your receipts to:

NOTE: Please confirm that there are rebates left, as shown in the countdown box above, before sending in your application. 100 rebates will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis in order of the postmarked date on the envelope.

ecoENERGY Homeowner Grants - $5000
To access an additional $65 toilet rebate and up to $5000 in retrofit grants for windows, doors, heating, ventilation, insulation, hot water heating and more:
- Book a home energy assessment BEFORE you install the toilet or start other home upgrades and receive a customized retrofit plan from a City Green Advisor.
Cost $150*
- Install a selection of grant-eligible products.
Mail in your SSI Toilet Rebate Application Form as detailed above.
- Book a follow-up energy assessment: A City Green Advisor will re-assess your home and complete your grant application for you. Cost $150*
Receive a grant cheque from the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes Program, Natural Resources Canada.
