EnerGuide Rating System for New Homes

Anyone can claim that a house is energy efficient, but an EnerGuide rating label for your New Home will prove how efficient it is with a third party verification process.

Book an EnerGuide Rating System Evaluation for Your New Home

  1. To get started, view our list of New Homes Energy Advisors and contact the advisor directly to request a free quote for service. Let them know that you got their contact information for City Green Green Solutions.

  2. Your chosen Energy Advisor will create an energy model of your home based on the architectural drawings and help you meet your energy efficiency goals by providing upgrade options for your home.

  3. After construction, your advisor performs a site visit to test the air tightness and verify the efficiencies of the mechanical systems and other features in your home. An EnerGuide Rating Label and Homeowner Information Sheet is provided for the home and should be passed on to the new home buyer.

Benefits of EnerGuide Ratings

An EnerGuide Rating can be used:

Demand for energy efficiency is growing. Research in Ontario has shown that:

  • 88% of new home buyers value energy efficiency,
  • 70% of new home buyers choose energy efficiency upgrade options when they are offered by the builder, and
  • the #1 reason people do not consider energy efficiency upgrades in their new homes purchase is that the builder did not explain the benefits.
